Going Dancing? Find Out What to Wear

What to wear on the dance floor? Flowing dresses allow for more movement, but if you prefer jeans or other pants those will work just as well

If you're going out dancing your main challenge will be finding the right clothing that will allow you to be both comfortable and still stunning without restricting your movements with the material worn. It doesn't matter what the season is, winter, spring, summer or fall. Dance moves will often keep you warm and ready to break a sweat.

Spinning, turning and raising your arms while dancing can cause your outfit to need readjustment if the fit is not correct. This can make or break your night; the last thing you want is a wardrobe malfunction while on the dance floor. You don't want to be self conscious or uncomfortable that your dress keeps getting stuck.

Wearing a pair of comfortable jeans
Is a great alternative to a dress and if you're in a casual setting you may even want to consider wearing capri jeans, shorts or even skirts. A short sleeve top can keep you from being too hot if you plan on dancing through the night.

Wearing jewelry:
Another overlooked tip is to keep your jewelry to a minimum, long necklaces swing around and can hit you or your dance partner while in motion. Dangling earrings also have the same risk as it can get caught on clothing or hair. Do keep this in mind when you are selecting your jewelry.

Sweating on the dance floor:
Everyone sweats and it's not necessarily a bad thing, it's also a sign that you're having a good time on the dance floor. You should always wear something cool and airy without baring too much skin, it's appealing to show a little skin but it can be a lot more sexy to be classy. have fun and show a little skin but keep things rated PG. If you're not certain that you can pull of wearing a skirt when dancing or exposing your legs makes you shy wearing nude fishnets can be a good option. They not only breathe, it also provides leg and tummy support.

Long hours on your feet:
Shoes that stick to the dance floor may hinder your best moves but wearing shoes that may fly off can be embarrassing. Wearing shoes that fit properly is the key to dancing the night away.

Should you wear high heels?

For fast dancing it's not recommended you wear high heels, you risk falling or ankle sprain. Just bought new shoes? Don't forget to break them in, leaving them sitting around until your night out could be a painful experience. You will need practice dancing in them at home before wearing them in public. Don't be afraid to get them dirty...be gentle.

Don't let your age stop you from having fun:
The fashion industry may seem to cater to the young and sexy but for women in their 30s, 40s and 50s it may seem difficult to be trendy and age appropriate. For those in their 30's wearing a cowl neck top and a pair of relaxed fit pants with booties is a common look. For women in their 50's it's important to know your body shape to dress suitably. With a little planning or shopping around you are surely to find a pair of shoes that will stay firmly on your feet; and the outfit you decide on wearing to go out dancing should always be comfortable, have a great fit and keep you looking good.
